The simple, elegant needle case is a replica of the London find published in Dress Accessories (Needlecase no. 1784). The case offered here is made from brass, the cap of the case (lost in the original find) was reconstructed.
The cap can be pulled off the case; to prevent it from getting lost, cap and case are both connected by a piece of yarn or string. This string can also be used to secure the case to something (or someone) else.
The simple yet elegant design of the case makes it a beautiful addition to every historical sewing kit. Needle cases of this type are known from the late 13th century onward.
